Qantas Airways downloads experienced a downward trend at the beginning of the quarter, from 4K in the last week of December to 3K in mid-January. However, this trend reversed, picking up to nearly 5K by the end of March. Weekly active users mirrored this pattern, dipping from 25K to 22K in January, then climbing back up to over 25K by the close of March.
In contrast, Virgin Australia entertainment saw a gradual increase in downloads from the start of January's 3K to a peak of nearly 5K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also reflected growth, from 16K at the end of December to nearly 18K at the end of March.
Jetstar, another major player, had a slow start in January with downloads at 2K, but experienced a steady rise reaching over 3K by March. The weekly active users increased from just under 4K to over 5K during the same period.
Velocity Frequent Flyer had an unusual spike in downloads to 18K in the third week of January, but this outlier aside, downloads remained under 1K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users spiked in tandem to over 23K in January, then followed a downward trend, finishing at just over 8K in March.
Lastly, Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker maintained a steady revenue stream throughout the quarter, with weekly figures ranging from 3K to nearly 5K USD. Downloads for the app fluctuated, starting at around 3K, dipping to 2K in February, and then rising back to close to 3K by the end of March. The app's active users also saw a decline from 14K to 13K in the same timeframe.
